HISTORY
1977: The first mold
GEFA was founded in 1977 by business partners Angelo Gennaro and Bruno Facco, both based out of Cittadella (PD), as a company specialized in making molds for polymer based injection moulding. In 1979 a new production unit is added equipped with injection moulding machines.
The 1980s and Bi-injection moulding
The 1980s represent a turning point for GEFA, with the addition in 1986 of its first bi-injection moulding machine, able to work with two different polymers at the same time.
In 1994 gas assisted injection moulding machines are added to GEFA’s production line, a process that allows for enhanced quality, reduced cycle times and component weight reductions.
Injection moulding in the 2000s
In this decade GEFA expands its know-how, investing in cutting edge technology and adapting to the market. In 2005 three bi-injection moulding machines equipped with Cartesian operational systems are added, expanding even more GEFA’s production range and performances. Today GEFA has 18 injection moulding machines, 5 of which built for bi-injection.
In 2018 MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) is adopted to aid GEFA’s workflow and enhance each step of the moulding process, reducing lead-time and production costs.
The future of Polymers
40 years after its foundation GEFA continues its high quality work on polymer based injection moulding thanks to its huge know-how and a team of highly qualified professionals. We meet the clients’ vision with concrete solutions, attention to details and passion for the job.
A lot has changed since 1977 at GEFA: new machines, employees, clients, processes, but our drive is as strong as ever.
